Plataporma de gobyerno : Vote Hon. Edgar Pastoral for mayor!
May 7, 2010I think it would be better if you’ll hear this directly from uncle edgar, but to prove to you that Hon. Edgar Pastoral is diligent enough for the position, that he has concrete platforms for the good of everyone.
For a brief overview of his platform (as I remember them)
His platforms is divided into 6 major groups:
1. Education
For Edgar Pastoral, education is very necessary in our progress - “Edukasyon ang solusyon”
He wants to exhaust all the means to give the proper education to those who deserve it, even the less fortunate. Though public schools that offers free education already exist, some children were not brought to school due to some uneccessary fees like boy scout fees, graduations fees, etc. So to lessen the burden of students and their parents from different school fees, he is planning to allocate budget to shoulder these fees. He is also willing to give scholarship grants to the deserving students of Nabua.
For the proper distribution of public goods and services :
He wants to strengthen the power of the local barangays by entrusting some duties to their respective barangay captains and his kagawads. This is visioned for a quicker access needs of the people - primarily on health and agricultural needs.
2. Health
Health programs would be one of his primary priority. He wanted to make each barangay health centers to be functioning - provided by either of a nurse, midwife and barangay health worker. Of course it will be provided with OTC medicines that will be given for free. He is also planning to give ambulance to barangays, that can be used in saving lives in case of emergency.
3. Agriculture
Since most of the population of Nabua get their livelihood in farming, this will be one of his focus. He wanted to lessen the burden of our farmers by providing free seeds and fertilizers that will also be facilitated by our local barangays. They will also be given appropriate capitals so that they will not be forced to ask for bumbays and abusive Pampanguenios.
Part of his program is to give away free vegetable seedlings for everyone’s backyard, so that everyone will be entitled to plow their lands that will also benefit them in return.
4. Employment/Livelihood
Lacking of employment opportunities would be one of the primary cause of draining and poverty among us. And since the town will be in a new administration, they will be replacing those corrupt yellow boys, abusive employees who unilaterally confiscates and destroys goods sold by our deprived vendors, those lazy employees who spend their time in counting the narra leaves falling, those private armies and body guards of Simbulans which reminds us of Maguindanao and even those Pampanguenio employees and a lot more (which will be done in the right due process) by giving incentives to those retirables, so with that they will be needing applicants to fill out those vacancies.
Part of his platform is to give sufficient capital to those interested business people, which will be in a contract saying that it will never be used for sabong, bingo, pambababae etc.
5. Infrastructure programs
Within three years time, he is planning to make cemented roads in every barangay, that is very possible with the help of the national development funds given to undeveloped towns.
He will also fix the drainage system of Nabua particullarly in sentro, in preparation to floods.
He is also envisioning of a well organized “sentro”. Traffics will be lessen by making a designated terminals for buses, jeeps, tricycles, motorized etc. which will be placed in the donated land of Mrs. Alfelor. He is also thinking to renovate the market to a more pleasing and orderly look.
6. Governance
Hon. Edgar Pastoral firmly believes that competence in fund management is the solution!
Nabua has been receiving more than 110 million budget (exclusion of the development funds) for the town that if managed and used well, would surely bring progress to all.
In more or less than 9 years of Edgar Pastoral as the vice mayor, he saw all these sickening problems of the town - while the simbulans are busy corrupting the money of Nabua and thinking of the possible attacks on the personal aspect of my uncle edgar! instead of focusing in the REAL problems of our town.
Actually, his speech takes more than an hour so I’m not sure if this is complete. Better yet i suggest that to know more about his platforms, please also do patiently attend meetings that has been and will be conducted to a barangay near you. Thank you very much and God Bless us all
